JRMA on Team Selectedfor Commercial Waste Building
BREA, CA (November 22, 2019) — JRMA (J. R. Miller & Associates, Inc.) announced today that it is part of the Jacobs (NYSE:JEC) project team awarded a contract by the Sacramento County Department of Waste Management and Recycling to provide design consulting services for a new commercial waste building at the North Area Recovery Station in Sacramento. The project team is led by Jacobs, with JRMA taking the lead role on architectural and structural design and operational programming. The new commercial waste building will significantly improve operational efficiency and safety and will be an essential component of the County’s efforts to meet diversion requirements set by California regulations, including Senate Bill 1383. The proposed building, expected to be operational by fall 2021, will accommodate separate receiving and handling of municipal solid waste and organics, and will be designed to allow for future facility expansions to meet anticipated increases of waste quantities.
JRMA’s responsibilities will include operational programming, architectural and structural design and technical specifications, input to the development of project cost estimates, bidding phase support, administrative services during construction, and preparation of record drawings.
