JRMA on Team Selected for Siting,Architectural and Engineering Services for Northeast Recycling and Transfer Station (NERTS)
JRMA (J. R. Miller & Associates, Inc.) Architects and Engineers has commenced design services for the new Recycling and Transfer Station in Northeast King County, Washington. This contract was recently awarded by the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks, Solid Waste Division (SWD) to Jacobs (NYSE:JEC) as team lead and with JRMA taking a lead role on operational programming and site planning. The new facility will feature an enclosed solid waste transfer and processing area; solid waste compactor units; a recycling collection and sorting area; employee facility; scale house and weigh station; and fueling station. Climate change impacts and sustainability shall be considered as part of planning for the new facility and operations, as well as implementing the highest green building and sustainable development practices to achieve carbon-neutral operations. Construction is estimated to be completed by April 2028.
