Aranda Tooling Inc. Facility Relocation
Chino, CAAranda Tooling Inc. is a metal stamping, laser cutting, and metal fabrication company servicing a variety of industries including automotive, construction, home hardware, medical, military, and renewable energy. Due to business growth, it had outgrown its existing facility in Huntington Beach, CA and was relocating to a new facility in Chino, CA. JRMA partnered with Frize Corporation to design, permit, and construct the improvements required to meet a very tight schedule, ensuring that the machine foundations would be ready by the move date. JRMA provided design, permitting, and construction administration services on the project.
The project itself consisted of 3 freestanding crane systems, 2 platforms, electrical conduit supports, racking design, and 11 stamping press foundations varying in size from 400T to 1,200T. Due to poor onsite soil conditions, the 1200T press was constructed using concrete cast-in-place drilled caissons around the perimeter of the pit to provide shoring and vertical support in its final condition. This foundation design allowed for minimal disruption of the adjacent floor areas for the balance of the improvements.
- An innovative structural design approach resulted in significant savings in the press foundation.
