Atlantic Aviation APC
Napa, CAAs part of the market growth of the Napa Valley and Northern California wine region, Atlantic Aviation is improving its existing FBO at Napa Municipal Airport with a complete renovation and expansion of its current operation. The project, currently in the design process, will take cues from the “farmhouse modern” theme that is evident throughout the region and provide facility users with an appropriate gateway to the area. The FBO will include a large-volume lobby with an exposed wood structure, design elements from the wine region, and direct views of the airfield. Entry and exit to the FBO will be through a similarly themed landside porte cochere and airside canopy. The adjacent hangar will take on a similar agrarian look with clerestory windows, stone wainscot, and an office and shop area “lean-to” to support aircraft operations and a flight school. The complete campus will include sustainable features including native landscaping with photovoltaic panels for renewable energy to power the 100% electric-based facility (no natural gas), locally sourced and sustainable building materials, energy-efficient lighting and mechanical systems, and a bioswale system for rainwater.
