Phoenix SR-85 Landfill Facilities

In 2006, the City of Phoenix opened the new State Route 85 Landfill, located southwest of the city near Buckeye, Arizona. In 2011, JRMA teamed with Bryan A. Stirrat & Associates to design new entrance facilities to service this landfill over the operational life of the landfill.

JRMA designed five structures, including the scales and scalehouse, an administrative office building, a maintenance center, and employee support areas. The new concrete masonry structures are designed for durability and feature desert earth tones and smooth, clean lines.
