Signature Flight Support North | Sun Air Jets

Signature Flight Support Hangers 2 and 3 (Sun Air) at Van Nuys Municipal Airport is the second phase of the master plan that JRMA developed for the leasehold in 2009 for Million Air and Maguire Aviation. JRMA teamed with Aeroplex Group on this project to develop the west side flank of the U-shaped master plan. Two nearly identical hangars of 31,030 SF and 31,320 SF are located side-by-side with an office/shop area measuring 3,898 SF and 4,475 SF respectively. The clear span for each hangar is 214’ with a 195’ x 28’ hangar door. The entire west side of the facility has direct landside access and parking with airside access via the hangar to the renovated ramp at the east. Each office/shop area is Class-A with support facilities for a single or multiple tenants. The exterior design is in keeping with the original Hangar 1 that JRMA designed in 2009, utilizing the same metal wall panels in multiple shades of blue with blue-tinted clearstory glazing at the hangar and full-height exterior glazing at the office/shop areas. The project will exceed CALGreen requirements with rooftop photovoltaic installation, sustainable and locally sourced building products, and energy efficient building systems.
